USDA DISTANCE LEARNING & TELEMEDICINE
PROGRAM ANNOUNCED
DEADLINE AUGUST 12
MONROVIA, IND. – July 15, 2013 – The United
States Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced the Fiscal Year 2013 Notice
of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the Distance Learning and Telemedicine (DLT)
Grant Program and a deadline has been set.
Applications are due no later than August 12,
2013 to the Rural Utilities Service, Telecommunications Program, Washington,
D.C.
USDA is accepting applications by this due
date for entities providing education and medical care via telecommunications.
The DLT Program provides financial assistance to encourage and improve
telemedicine services and distance learning services in rural areas through the
use of telecommunications, computer networks, and related advanced technologies
to be used by students, teachers, medical professionals, and rural residents.

process. Total estimated funding for FY13 is approximately $17,531,000. USDA
anticipates awarding cooperative agreements ranging from $50,000 to $500,000,
