DOE tax credits return-$150 million available announced
See below straight from the DOE website. The Energy Department and the US Treasury are again offering tax credits from clean energy and energy efficiency. While we are not a CPA firm and do not advise on tax matters, should you need help preparing the narrative portions of an application, give us a call.
$150 Million in Tax Credits Available for Clean Energy Manufacturers
The U.S. Departments of Energy and the Treasury on February 7 announced the availability of $150 million in Advanced Energy Manufacturing tax credits for clean energy and energy efficiency manufacturing projects across the United States. The program supports manufacturing of a range of clean energy products, from renewable energy equipment to energy efficiency products. Established by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the initial round provided $2.3 billion in credits to 183 projects across the country. The $150 million in tax credits are being made available because they were not used by the previous awardees.
The tax credits will be allocated on a competitive basis. Projects will be assessed by the Energy Department based on the following criteria: commercial viability, domestic job creation, technological innovation, speed to project completion, and potential for reducing air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. The Department will also consider additional factors, including diversity of geographical locations, technology, project size, and regional economic development. See the Energy Department

Introducing the new umbrella concept brand, Prosperity Consulting, LLC
Prosperity Ag and Energy Resources is now a division of Prosperity Consulting, LLC. Owner and Certified WBE, Sarah Beth Aubrey, explains the importance of the name change while maintaining the core customer base:
"When I formed Prosperity Ag, LLC, my primary market was centered around agriculture, energy, renewable energy technology, energy efficiency, environmental projects, local food economic development and small farms entrepreneurship. As a company, we continue to serve these markets through our consulting offerings such as grant writing, guaranteed loan application assistance, feasibility studies and business plan development. Yet, just as each spring brings new growth on the farm, this practice has grown, too. My team and I see an emerging need for our services from entrepreneurs, women business owners, municipalities, corporate foundations, trade groups, and academia that not only want assistance with grant writing, but also have a direct need to understand when and how to use grant funding. We also realize that not every situation calls for one-on-one services if proper education on securing funding is provided. Having offered speeches on 'how to win a grant' for several years, we formally launched a training division in 2012 and will expand the present 2-day course offering to include digital training products, additional live classes, and new workbooks and products for print on demand in 2013. With these new markets in mind and a close eye on our core group of loyal clients, we aim to accurately represent the array of services available and proudly introduce the new umbrella concept brand, Prosperity Consulting, LLC."

25x'25 REsource Blog - "This Week's Gains Must Be Maintained with an Eye toward the Long Term"
Welcome to the second week of the new year! We're back to business as usual here at Prosperity Ag and Energy Resources but we do have some exciting plans for roll out this quarter!
Many of you have been wondering what will become of the programs from the 2008 Farm Bill Energy Title following the apparent resolution of the year-end fiscal cliff. The broad answer is that we still don't know exactly how the year will shape up for these programs such as REAP, BCAP and others. We know that Congress extended the Farm Bill for the Fiscal Year of 2013 (runs through September 30, 2013), but that Energy Title programs did not receive any mandatory funding. That does not mean they won't be funded-but it does not mean they will be funded, either. For a more detailed picture, take a read of the resource below provided by 25 X 25 Initiative.
